Each Summer, the Sound of the Gulf
Since 1988, Cala Gonone has been synonymous with jazz music.
It’s nearly impossible to list all the renowned international artists who have graced the stages of the Cala Gonone Jazz Festival. With almost four decades of history, it stands as the longest-running music event in Sardinia and one of the most prestigious in the entire Mediterranean.
Organized by the Intermezzo Association, the festival has become a cornerstone of Dorgali’s summer cultural scene. Each year, it brings together a remarkable program of high-quality performances, turning this former fishing village into a small capital of great music. The festival is especially known for its commitment to fostering dialogue between Sardinia’s musical traditions and the best of Italian and international jazz.
Typically held over two weeks between late July and early August, the festival draws a passionate audience from across Sardinia—and beyond—making Cala Gonone a key destination for music lovers visiting the island.
